1. Provides leadership for raising funds in support of Philhaven/CADD.
a. Engages with CADD’s staff and program sufficiently to accurately and passionately represent CADD’s vision and mission to prospects and supporters.
b. Involves CADD leadership and volunteers as appropriate in the development process.
c. Ensures that these efforts are consistent with the overall Philhaven development philosophy and approach.
d. Meets annual performance goals as agreed to by Director of Development.
2. Fills the pipeline with prospects and new supporters for Philhaven/CADD’s mission.
a. Plans and implements a Grateful Patient Program as a key vehicle for growing Philhaven/CADD’s support base.
b. Engages CADD staff persons, supporters and volunteers who have key connections to prospects.
c. Leads several Philhaven/CADD tours annually primarily for guests with potential for supporting CADD’s mission.
d. Makes tour follow-up calls within one week, to receive guest feedback and invite engagement as indicated.
3. Cultivates interest of prospects and donors for the purpose of growing support for Philhaven/CADD’s mission. 40%
a. Identifies interests and passions of donors and prospects and seeks engagement with Philhaven/CADD in appropriate ways.
b. Plans strategic next steps in developing a mutually beneficial relationship for donors and Philhaven/CADD.
c. Implements these ‘next steps’ which can include phone conversations, sending notes of thanks, making Know thy Donor calls, inviting guests to special luncheons with Philhaven/CADD leaders, and arranging for other special small group events. Will give special attention to in-person interaction with key prospects and supporters including, for example, visiting in a home, meeting for coffee or lunch.
d. Documents information that is useful to the cultivation process and in such a way that another staff member can understand and continue this relationship in the future.
e. Involves the Philhaven Volunteer Coordinator as appropriate for those expressing interest in donating time.
f. Identifies persons whose relationship with Philhaven/CADD should be carried by other staff or volunteers.
4. Solicits and thanks donors for gifts to Philhaven/CADD
a. Solicits major gifts as much as possible in face to face visits/meetings
b. Invites donors as appropriate to consider membership in Dream Builders Circle.
c. Seeks opportunities to increase the number of donors and size of gifts to Philhaven/CADD.
d. Plans mailings to parents/guardians of clients to invite gifts and words of affirmation in recognition of specific Philhaven/CADD staff (Grateful Patient Program).
e. Plans annual giving appeal mailings.
f. Keeps the interests of donors as primary in the relationship with Philhaven/CADD.
g. Phones donors to thank them for their gifts and involves other staff and volunteers as appropriate.
h. Uses these contacts as part of the cultivation process.
5. Participates in selected community events in Philhaven service area, at a level agreed to with supervisor, for the purpose of engaging supporters and prospects.
a. Raises awareness of Philhaven/CADD through presentations and conversations.
b. Invites interested persons to further engagement with Philhaven/CADD.
