Philhaven offers a wide range of unpaid internship opportunities. The internships are offered to students attending colleges and universities throughout East Central Pennsylvania. Many of the interns are able to complete their requirements at a satellite facility in Lebanon, Lancaster, Dauphin or York county, depending on the type opportunity sought.

Our internships range from vocation/technical to highest degreed professionals, including internships in Information Technology, Medical Coding, Medical Billing, and a growing discipline in Health Information Management. 

At any given time, Philhaven has between 30 to 35 interns engaged with us in learning. Each intern is assigned an experienced supervisor to assist in coaching and mentoring learning activity. Interns whose program requires more than 100 hours are provided a general orientation and specific training in crisis intervention, and they will be assigned an employee-mentor. Our interns get real exposure to the work environment at Philhaven and give us feedback that they found the internship to be extraordinarily beneficial.

Interns are strongly encouraged to apply to open positions at Philhaven after completing their degree programs. We are frequently able to hire persons who have completed an internship with us.
